On your to the summit, you will get to relax and snooze while heading up the mountain. Once you arrive, you will definitely get a jolt of energy as you get out into the open, at about 10,000 feet above sea level, and realize the temperature is quite different from where you left. The temperature is about 30 degrees cooler than at sea level, ranging between the '30s and '40s.
Next, you will head up to the Haleakala National Park's Visitor Center and join all the others in waiting for the rising of the sun. You won't want to miss nature's show, as it changes the lighting and colors of both the sky above and the crater beneath you. This is guaranteed to be an experience you won't ever forget!
This tour allows for plenty of time to visit the summit area before you head down the mountain.
Following your visit to the Haleakala National Park, you will stop for breakfast at Kula Lodge, a small hotel located on the slopes of Mount Haleakala, where you will delight your tastebuds with one of their award-winning breakfast dishes while taking in the breathtaking views of the South Maui shoreline and West Maui Mountains.
Throughout the entire descent from the top of the mountain, you will witness the change in terrain, going from dry and cold at the summit to fields of green, lush vegetation and rising temperature, the closer you get to sea level. All of this with your guide's professional live narration.
Your next stop will be your resort or condominium. Because you started so early, there will be plenty of time to say aloha to the sun again, this time from your favorite beach or resort pool. We believe you will forever keep this adventure as one of your fondest!
